I love Saturdays and Sundays.

I don’t always enjoy them as much as I wish I could, but maybe that’s my own fault.  Why does it seem like when I’m actually home on a weekend,  I’m always cleaning the house, cooking a meal, then cleaning up that meal, then prepping for the week coming up and shopping for every other thing we ran out of living at home? Why is it that the people that say, “I can’t wait for the weekend” clearly don’t have these cleaning and cooking responsibilities. Do they? Maybe they enjoy cleaning and cooking more than me. Or maybe they just don’t notice messes like I do? Or maybe they just prioritize differently and I need to have a chat with them. It’s a chronic problem I have–cleaning all the things.

I know deep down that this actually a non-issue. Life is not about cleaning, it’s not about messes or not, it’s about people…that I love. It’s about Jesus and about why he came to earth. It’s certainly not about me or my house I realize. Yes, I love going to church and watching games and being with people that I love, but guys, I just like my house to smell good…
