Ever since I started the practice of having a word for the year, it’s just continued to be a thing, and I love it. Sometimes words have been challenging, and something they’ve been really hard. This year my word is “change.” I don’t know what that means, and it’s honestly a little scary to me, but overall I know God always works things, good or bad, hard or easy, for the good, so I trust that the change that is coming this year is a good kind of change. A kind of change that will maybe cause me to cry, but possibly tears of joy. To cause me to be uncomfortable, but maybe for the best reasons. I’m trusting that the change that’s coming is the kind of change that is needed. God is with me and God is for me.

My verse for the year is Isaiah 43:19, “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

Here’s to an amazing year. Thank you, Lord, for new beginnings, for rivers in the dry wasteland, and for the change that is coming. The change I can’t see yet, the change within me, and everything in between.
